Hanna Yador-Avni

Claire Megnagi, the young Israeli Soprano, has asked me to compose a piece for her. I decided to take the beautiful Poem written by the famous Israeli poet Dalia Rabikovitch who passed away last year. I found in her poem a full emotional and thoughtfull expression which described exactly my feelings about another woman who passed away a few months ago, the journalist and author Hanna Yador-Avni.

Hanna was my friend and her death caused me great pain. The combination of Claire Megnagi's beautiful soprano voice together with the sound of the cello, my favorite instrument among the orchestral instruments together with Rabikovitch's painful text made it possible for me to express my feelings as to my friend's much too early death.

The piece is written for Claire Meghnagi and dedicated to the memory of Hanna Yador-Avni.
