Longing was composed for the Violist Rivka Golani to her request during the Dartington summer school of music and festival in Britain in August 2005.
The short piece was composed during the festival and was performed in a recital a few days later.
The piece expresses longing for a different world, for different sounds, for a world where emotions were not forbidden to be expressed through music. It expresses longing to everything which is beauty. The piece was performed by Rivka Golani again in a recital in Jerusalem in November 2005 and was recorded and broadcast live in the radio.
